nadege5
Born in Haiti, Nadège learned how to cook from her father, whom she joined in Brooklyn at seven years old. Since learning to cook at 8 years old, Nadege has always associated cooking with gatherings and community as she distinctly remember cooking for her dad and his friends as they played cards, dominos and shared stories. Upon entering college she used food as a vehicle to build connections among her diverse body of friends all while educating them about the rich history and culture of Haiti. Since then she has expanded her culinary endeavors into a full-fledged brand. Nadege is a culinary ambassador. She draws from her Haitian heritage to effortlessly fuse the traditional and the modern. Nadege is a passionate innovator who harnesses her skills, creative inspiration and love of food to serve communities through the realms of the culinary arts and entrepreneurship. She conducts culinary tours to Haiti as a way of providing Haitians, Haitians Americans and friends of Haiti access to experience Haiti and its rich culture. Her latest food venture BunNan, is a plantain concept restaurant formulated out of her love of food and the need to share Haitian, Caribbean and black diaspora cuisine with the rest of the world. When she’s not hosting an event, she regularly hosts cooking classes and other culinary experiences.
